Prehealth Concentration

If you are thinking about pursuing a career in the health professions, it is important that you register in person with the Office of Pre-Professional Advising and Fellowships (OPPAF), located in Levermore Hall room 303. Students are recommended to do this as early as their first year of study.

The following professional schools are included in health profession studies:

Like most colleges, Adelphi University does not offer a specific pre-med major. Pre-health profession students can major in any subject, but must complete the required course work.

Advisers are committed to helping you prepare for a career in the health professions and to supporting your efforts to achieve your goal. In addition, the prestigious science faculty on the Pre-medical Council look forward to shaping your undergraduate experience as you prepare for professional study in the health professions.

The supportive faculty, along with your classroom preparation and the individual advisement that you will receive at Adelphi, will make you a stronger applicant when you apply to a health professions school.

If you decide that you no longer want to be on the pre-health professions track, you need only to inform the OPPAF to close your file.
