The department has received funding from the National Science Foundation, the Research Corporation, the American Association of Physics Teachers, NASA, the Environmental Protection Agency, United States Department of Energy, Department of Defense, U.S. Army, Empire State Electric Energy Research Corporation, New York State Energy Research and Development Authority, Electric Power Research Institute, Long Island Lighting Company, and Long Island Energy Initiative.
Students are encouraged to participate in research which often carries a stipend allowing students to work while gaining valuable experience. Students should contact the individual professor for more information.
