The concentration in journalism is designed to equip students with the professional skills and critical thinking abilities necessary to work as journalists in today’s rapidly evolving field. The plan of study covers writing for newspapers and magazines, digital journalism, and photojournalism. Additional courses are offered in sports journalism, propaganda, media law, and documentary filmmaking
Students have the opportunity to work both on the school’s award winning student newspaper, the Delphian, and also on P.A.W.S., the Adelphi Web radio station. Internships, which include work with both local newspapers and major network news departments, are available for the students to explore the field and showcase their skills.
